FleetBoost Live at the DAF Magdeburg Electric Vehicle Event: Drive E-Trucks, Experience FleetBooster
The future of electric trucks is here. The grid capacity isn’t. On Saturday, August 22, 2026, we’ll be demonstrating how this problem can be solved in practice, together with Curt Schröter Nachf. GmbH (DAF Magdeburg), at the big electric vehicle event and open house in Barleben near Magdeburg. From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the FleetBooster will be on site, right next to the electric trucks that visitors can test drive that day.
Test drives and charging infrastructure all in one place
Curt Schröter is bringing four different DAF electric vehicles to the yard: the XD 350 FAN as a roll-off truck and a refrigerated box truck, the XB for urban distribution, and the XF 350 FT as a tractor-trailer. Two DAF driving instructors will accompany the test drives. Anyone who has ever wondered what it feels like to drive a fully electric 40-metric-ton truck will find the answer here, behind the wheel.
And for anyone wondering how these vehicles are actually supposed to be charged at their own charging station, the answer is right next to it. We’ll show you how the solution works using the FleetBooster: It draws power from an existing connection—80 kW or more via a 125-A CEE plug—stores the energy in its CATL LFP battery storage system, and delivers it as DC fast charging at up to 400 kW per charging station when needed. No grid expansion, no building permit, no months-long wait for the grid operator.
That’s exactly what this day is all about: electric trucks and the right charging infrastructure go hand in hand. The vehicles are ready for series production, the technology is mature, and funding is in place—most recently supplemented by the new BMV subsidy for electric truck charging infrastructure, which can save up to 445,000 euros with FleetBoost. In practice, what most often holds companies back is the on-site grid connection. The FleetBooster closes exactly this gap: either as a buffer storage system that absorbs peak loads and makes optimal use of the available connected load capacity, or as a permanent component of the charging infrastructure that grows with the fleet.
A Strong Partner in Saxony-Anhalt
Curt Schröter is consistently investing in electric mobility: The Barleben facility will be certified as a DAF Electric Truck Center later this year, and a 180-kW charging station and a mobile charger for the workshop will be added; two trained high-voltage specialists are already part of the team. The fact that DAF won the title “International Truck of the Year 2026” with the XD and XF Electric and was also named “Truck Manufacturer of the Year” in May underscores how far the vehicle side has come.
The event will officially open with a welcome address by Dr. Lydia Hüskens, Minister of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs for the State of Saxony-Anhalt. Host Sven Vogel will guide attendees through the day’s music and activities. For families, there will be a bungee trampoline and a bounce house; for refreshments, there will be a barbecue stand, a beverage cart, and coffee and cake.
