UK Demo Tour: Experience High-Power Charging for Electric Trucks Firsthand

This week marks the start of our UK Demo Tour, the first mobile, battery-powered fast-charging roadshow for electric trucks on the island. With the Fleetbooster, we’re heading straight to key logistics and HGV hubs across England to let people experience high-power charging under real-world conditions—live and up close.

The background: The United Kingdom is gradually electrifying its heavy-duty transport sector. Electric trucks—known there as eHGVs (electric Heavy Goods Vehicles)—are increasingly hitting the roads. What’s been missing so far is the appropriate charging infrastructure. Currently, there are three charging stations nationwide where an eHGV can charge without having to unhitch its trailer. This is exactly where we come in: together with Certas Energy, we’re demonstrating how easily high-power charging can be established along transport routes without the need for costly grid expansion.

The tour stops (June 22–26)

• Mon, June 22 – Watling Street Truck Stop, St Albans (M25/M1) | 12:00–17:00
• Tue, June 23 – Watling Street Truck Stop, St. Albans | 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Wed, June 24 – Banbury area (M40, Exit 10) | Location and time to be announced
• Thu, June 25 – The Hollies Truck Stop, Cannock | 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Fri, June 26 – The Hollies Truck Stop, Cannock | 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

At each stop, you can expect a charging demonstration under real-world conditions, a technical briefing, and the opportunity to speak directly with the FleetBoost team. To wrap up the tour, we’ll celebrate the 100th anniversary of “The Hollies” truck stop in Cannock together with Certas Energy on Friday. The entire demo tour is supported by NovAzure.

Why this is important

At its core, this is a classic chicken-and-egg problem: Without a reliable charging infrastructure, all-electric trucks can hardly gain a foothold, and without the right vehicles on the road, it’s difficult to justify expanding the infrastructure. Our mobile solution breaks this cycle: High-power charging is available where it’s needed, quickly and without the need for time-consuming grid connections.
