Electrification without grid expansion:
HPC power for a logistics hub
Electrification without grid expansion:
HPC power for a logistics hub
Project Objectives
Despite the lack of grid capacity, the electrification of the electric truck fleet needed to be implemented quickly. Since it was not possible to build conventional high-power charging infrastructure due to limited grid capacity, the challenge was to develop a flexible, scalable, and rapidly deployable solution.
“Fleetboost gives us the flexibility we need to implement electric mobility in combined transport quickly and sustainably. This allows us to electrify our electric truck fleet independently of the grid—and thus in a flexible and predictable manner.”

DB Intermodal Services specializes in complementary services for combined transport—ranging from the operation of transshipment terminals and container depots to the repair, cleaning, and maintenance of containers, as well as trucking and the container trade.

TFG Transfracht is the market leader in
containerized seaport hinterland transport for German seaports. As a maritime, port-neutral operator, TFG manages global supply chains using intermodal transport and combines the system strengths of rail with the flexibility of trucking—across 6 ports, 25 terminals, and more than 15,000 locations in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland.
solution
To quickly and reliably electrify the depot site, the Fleetbooster 40 was installed as a mobile high-performance power station:
• Operational readiness in the shortest possible time
• Provision of the required charging capacity without costly grid expansion, thanks to an integrated 2.1 MWh battery storage system
• Parallel charging of up to four electric trucks during daily operations via two 400 kW ultra-fast charging stations
• Ensuring smooth fleet operations with 800 kW of system power
• Stability and predictability for regular operations through integration into the existing load management system
Results & Benefits
By using the Fleetbooster 40, the site was able to be electrified and made future-proof in a very short time:
• Immediate expansion of the electric truck fleet, without waiting for grid connections or approval processes
• High planning reliability and flexibility when relocating or expanding sites
• Savings on high investment costs for permanent grid infrastructure
• Significant reduction in operational CO₂ emissions
